Job Description



Supports resort operations by performing basic electrician tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

As a Trades I - Electrician, you will:

  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Understand how electrical systems function and be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
  • Safely work with ceiling fans, breakers, ballasts, switches, outlets, bulbs, and more.
  • Repair moderately complex equipment, such as vacuums, toasters, lamps, and small appliances as needed.
  • Work with low voltage systems (12V to 24V) to install controls, thermostats, transformers, relays, and breaker panels.
  • Install circuits and devices using electrical conduit (EMT), MC cable, and wiring as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret technical data and O&M manuals.
  • Actively participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for tasks.
  • Operate resort operations software and devices effectively (HotSOS).
  • Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as directed by resort management.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools required for electrical work.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and in confined or narrow spaces.
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Identify and report potential hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs with positive interactions toward resolution.
  • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Technical certification or electrician license preferred.
  • Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.

  • Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines. 
  • Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
