Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Merchandiser for an in-house fulltime contract position based in the South bay. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and expertise in merchandising, particularly with a large volume of SKUs within apparel manufacturing. The position requires heavy use of Microsoft Excel and working with international teams.

Position Overview:

The Associate Merchandiser will develop extensive product knowledge to manage and communicate product assortments tailored for various international markets. The role focuses on data-driven decision-making to identify opportunities, optimize assortments, and support sales growth. Effective communication across multiple time zones and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a product expert and manage product lines for international distributor countries.
  • Analyze sales trends, inventory, and sample orders to recommend assortment adjustments.
  • Maintain and update line sheets, including additions, drops, and reductions for each market.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings with partners to review business status and needs.
  • Monitor sales performance by category and country to identify growth opportunities or challenges.
  • Communicate product information promptly and clearly to international partners.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and planning teams globally to maximize sales potential.
  • Prepare and present reports on business trends using advanced Excel tools such as pivot tables and V-lookups.
  • Support key initiative product reviews and global product conferences bi-annually.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 yrs years of merchandising experience managing large SKU assortments.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and V-lookups.
  • Comfortable delivering confident presentations and responding to questions effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a global mindset and ability to work across different time zones.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Rate: $30/hr
