Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Location: Piscataway, NJ 08854

Duration: 6-month assignment

Job Summary:

The Analytical Chemist I is responsible for conducting chemical analyses on finished products using chromatographic, spectroscopic, wet chemistry, and other analytical techniques. The role includes processing analytical data, interpreting results, and preparing reports to support product quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on laboratory experience and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyze finished product samples using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and wet chemistry
2. Accurately document, process, and interpret analytical results
3. Prepare and present detailed reports of findings to internal stakeholders
4. Ensure analyses comply with regulatory standards, internal SOPs, and quality requirements
5. Maintain lab instruments and perform routine calibrations and troubleshooting
6. Collaborate with quality control, R&D, and production teams to resolve analytical issues
7. Participate in investigations and continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
2. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry
3. Proficiency in chromatographic and spectroscopic analysis techniques
4. Familiarity with data analysis and laboratory documentation practices
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a regulated laboratory setting

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in the cosmetics or consumer goods industry
2. Working knowledge of GMP/GLP standards and regulatory compliance
3. Experience with LIMS or electronic lab notebooks
