Cash Accountant I

About the role: Great opportunity to work with a growing company in a stable industry. We are looking for someone to be responsible for recording all received payments. You will also be assisting in invoicing for our growing programs.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Generate and distribute invoices to clients.
  • Prepare, post, verify and record customer payments by recording Credit Card, Check, and ACH transactions.
  • Ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted daily.
  • Post financial transactions into NetSuite using journals or other records.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Research and resolve all invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain customer files.
  • Correspond with customers and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Document all A/R processes with written work instructions.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Ad-hoc projects.
  • Filing and other administrative tasks.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments as needed.

Direct Report/Supervision

Receives direction and guidance from the Accounting Manager. Must be disciplined and self-motivated at times to work with minimal guidance and supervision to meet corporate objectives and deadlines.

Required Education/Skills/Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 1-2 years of prior experience in a similar role and responsibilities.
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate with individuals at higher levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines while working independently.
  • Professional demeanor displaying ethical conduct and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Excel with experience using MS Office Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • NetSuite ERP experience is a plus.
